Omar Antonio Moreno, 53, had his bond denied after being charged in the hour-long chase along Eastex Freeway with Houston-area law enforcement that spanned 27 miles.

According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, deputies were trying to detain a felony suspect.

LAPD officers were in pursuit of a driver Thursday evening near downtown Los Angeles. The chase began around 8:10 p.m. as police were in pursuit of an assault with a deadly weapon suspect, according to the LAPD.
