We added (in this order) honey, corn syrup, dish soap, water (dyed red), vegetable oil and rubbing alcohol (dyed green). After all fluids were added, we dropped in a marble, a cherry tomato, plastic beads and a ping pong ball. It was so cool to see the objects float in the various layers.
