One of the things I love most about Calabria, is the rich history that’s on display at every turn. This is an ancient church that was at the center of a town square. It was destroyed in the great Calabrian earthquakes of 1783, which were a series of large earthquakes that hit the region over a two month period. Destroying many hilltop towns like this.
