In the final stages of the Kargil War, 24-year-old Captain Anuj Nayyar led an assault on Point 4875, one of the enemy’s last strategic strongholds. As he led his men up a treacherous slope, they came under heavy enemy fire. Undeterred, he charged on and destroyed three heavily fortified bunkers before being martyred, clearing the way for India’s final push.
